HOLLY & STEVEN’S YORKSHIRE DALES WEDDING - THE SADDLE ROOM - 11TH AUGUST 2018
Well flippin’ heck… what a view this wedding had! When Holly first enquired and said that the wedding was going to be at The Saddle Room/The Forbidden Corner, I enthusiastically and quickly Googled having never heard of either! And yet there they were, right on my doorstep, nestled deep in the Yorkshire Dales. You might have already seen Holly, Steven & Ivy’s pre-wedding shoot at The Forbidden Corner… what a cool venue! If you’re ever stuck for a day out, look no further! So much fun. The only complaint I have is that they don’t allow dogs in. Boooo! But aside from that, it’s well worth a visit. The wedding was actually held at The Forbidden Corner’s sister venue, The Saddle Room/Tupgill Park Estate. Everyone was seriously lucky with the weather at most of my weddings this year and luckily this was one of them!
Holly had a whopping 10 bridesmaids! We couldn’t keep track of them all! Luckily, the venue has gorgeous little cottages for guest accommodation on site, so we could flit back and forth between the bride’s room and the cottages throughout the morning. I had my awesome rock star second shooter Wing Kay Chan with me, so we double teamed it!
It’s not hard to see why I love being a Yorkshire wedding photographer so much, is it?! The estate had some cool, quirky statues which follow in the style of The Forbidden Corner perfectly. Holly & Steven had the lyrics to Baz Luhrman’s ‘Sunscreen’ printed out and laid down the centre of the aisle.
The wedding had cool, rustic vibes and the reception room which is a fairly new addition to the venue was gorgeous. An awesome blank canvas to make your own, it transformed easily from a sit down meal to a dance floor with plenty of room to spare. Light, bright and airy with high ceilings and characterful stone walls.
The whole wedding just had a super chilled atmosphere, the speeches were totes emosh, the first dance was super cute and I couldn’t even handle Holly’s dance with her dad! Waaaaa! That part always chokes me up. It was beyond a pleasure to shoot this wedding and get to know Holly, her mum Deborah (hi, Debs!) and the rest of their families, all of whom made me feel like one of their own! And we weren’t allowed to leave without having a turn in the photo booth! Wishing these two a lifetime of love & happiness!
