BARMBYFIELD BARNS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY - CHLOE & ADAM - 15th august 2018
Chloe & Adam got hitched at Barmbyfield Barns back in August. The beauty of this venue is that it’s about 2 minutes away from my house! I’ve walked past Barmbyfield Barns ten million times and even been in for a nosey around, but had never shot there until this summer. I have another wedding booked in for next year which I now can’t wait for! I’d spent some time with Chloe & Adam at their pre-wedding shoot earlier in the year. They were both so chilled and easy to get on with, so I was really looking forward to this wedding!
I spent the morning with Chloe, her ELEVEN bridesmaids and her mum and dad at a house just around the corner from the venue. It was such a gorgeous moment when Chloe’s dad saw her in her dress for the first time… which then set her mum off! Pretty soon there wasn’t a dry eye in the room! So cute. Meanwhile, my sidekick second shooter and very good friend Chelsea Shoesmith was hanging with the guys at the venue. A second shooter is a great idea if you’ll be in different places the morning of the wedding and fancy photos of the both of you.
The wedding had a chilled, country vibe throughout. Barmbyfield Barns is the perfect setting, nestled in the middle of gorgeous Yorkshire countryside at the foot of the Wolds.
I jumped in the car with Chloe and her dad to snap some pictures of them sharing champagne together on the way to the venue. When we got there I found out that one of Adam’s friends who couldn’t be at the wedding (he and his partner were on the other side of the world), had woken up at some crazy hour, suited up and planned to spend the entire wedding on FaceTime with them! It was amazing! They were even dancing along with everyone on the dance floor 10 hours later. Serious friend points!
Before the wedding ceremony I spotted out of the corner of my eye, an incredible sequin jacket on a very stylish older lady! I often wear a sequin jacket when I shoot my weddings so I knew I had to find time to go and compliment her on hers! It turned out that the owner of said jacket was Chloe’s grandma, the sassiest 80 something woman I’ve ever met! She told us all about how she used to be a model in the 50s. She was wearing an amazing black jumpsuit, her silver hair was in a bun on the top of her head and she was sporting a pair of killer heels. You should’ve seen her on the dance floor! And don’t even get me started on how unbearably sweet she and Chloe’s Grandad were when they smooched and slow danced together. Marriage goals! She was so much fun and so lovely to me that I wanted to give her a special mention.
Chloe & Adam had a harpist playing music during the ceremony and reception, the tables were filled with tapas and the venue looked gorgeous… a winning combo of fairy lights, flags & flowers.
Adam joined the band to sing a song for Chloe before the dancing kicked off… and it was one killer wedding dance floor!
