5 Of the best wedding makeup artists in yorkshire
Almost all of my brides ask me if I can recommend any awesome bridal hair & makeup artists in the area, so I thought I'd put together a little list of my 5 faves! They are all marvellous, I know this because I've worked with all of them! I've actually worked with most of them on my book cover shoots. Not only are they incredible wedding makeup artists, they're mega lovely and easy to work with. Trust me, you wouldn't regret having any of these chicks as part of your wedding day!
I shot these images only yesterday, when I met Amy for the first time! We'd been chatting on Facebook and Instagram for a while and I was really keen to work with her. You can see why! Amy & I definitely have similar tastes & styles when it comes to weddings. I really really hope we get to work at one together some time soon! You can find her here:
I first met Ali when I was getting a team together for a magazine shoot in Hull and the last time we worked together was on a book cover shoot (images above!). Ali is really cool and super easy to get on with. I love her work, she created this gorgeous 1940s hair & makeup and it was exactly what I'd pictured. Her wedding work is just as stunning and I'd never hesitate to recommend her! She's based in York and you can find her HERE as well as on Facebook and Instagram.
Aimee is another amazing hair & makeup artist I've teamed up with on one of my book cover shoots.
(Side note: You've probably noticed that my book cover work is extremely different from my wedding work! I love it... it keeps me fresh & creative as a photographer! You can follow me on Instagram to see my published covers around the world!)
Anyway, back to Aimee! She did an incredible job on this shoot, just look at that eye makeup (far right & far left images). The centre image is from Aimee's Instagram page, I fell in love with everything about this bridal trial the second I saw it! Find Aimee HERE.
I met Jenn on a workshop back in 2017 and I just love her work. Jenn & "Team Edwards" are brilliant HMUAs, if you're a fan of the dreamy boho look, these chicks know how to nail it. They are 5 time winners at The Wedding Industry Awards & are based in Sheffield. Find them HERE.
Rebecca is actually based in Manchester but she travels to Yorkshire for weddings and other work. I wanted to include her as I know she's brilliant and lovely! Rebecca did the hair and makeup for me on my first Regency styled book cover shoot at Scampston Hall, and her work has made it onto a couple of covers so far, one of which is pictured above! She's most definitely one of my recommended makeup artists! Find her HERE.
